Additional Information: As winner of the Transport News “Scotland’s Top Fleet Livery” 2010 Scottish Reward, (and having also recently celebrated its silver anniversary), Oban Express has decided to mark these successes with the issue of a certificated, Limited Edition run of model trucks. Established in 1983, Oban Express has grown impressively over the years, yet remains a family business and retains traditional values. The Company employs more than 70 people and operates a fleet of 37 vehicles, ranging from Sprinter vans through to 44 tonne artics. With a purpose built main depot on a greenfield site in Oban and a satellite depot in Glasgow, Oban Express covers the central belt of Scotland from as far north as Inverness & Fort William, through to Campbeltown in the west and Dunoon in the south west as well as the outlying islands in the Inner & Outer Hebrides. Haulage and distribution work is undertaken for multi-national companies through to private individuals and the distinctive blue vehicles with contrasting dark blue & white graphics will be a familiar sight to many collectors – particularly those on the west coast of Scotland.
