Model business delivers miniature VW vans to couriers

A courier company that transports hazardous materials across the world has just taken delivery of a new fleet of VW vans – although these vehicles won’t be carrying dangerous goods.

For The Courier Company now has a fleet of 1:50 scale models of its distinctive VW vehicles produced by Search Impex, the leading independent supplier of customised promotional model vehicles

Fred Crook, who launched The Courier Company (www.thecouriercompany.biz) back in 1993, normally sends out small Christmas gifts to customers as a special thank you but decided this year to do something different and “standout”.

He said: “Many people have small vehicles on their desks and so the models act as a constant reminder of services you can provide. They are a great marketing tool and we’re pleased that Search Impex was able to use its experience to deliver what we needed.”

Search Impex has been supplying model vehicles to companies across the UK for more than 18 years, and has built up a reputation for attention to detail and an understanding of its customers’ bespoke requirements.

Co-founder Jim Newsome said: "The Courier Company wanted to say thank you to its customers with a special gift and contacted us to see if we could produce a die-cast model that replicated its vehicles and its distinctive livery. We were delighted with the result."
