As recent winners of the prestigious Transport News Scottish Fleet of the Year 2012 award, Caledonian Logistics has decided to mark the occasion by commissioning a run of model trucks from Derbyshire based promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex.
Customised in Caledonian Logistics’ distinctive livery and based on a 1:50 scale MAN TGX XXL (6x2) with 3 axle curtain trailer, the models will be produced as a certificated Limited Edition exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles.
Established back in 1999 by Derek Mitchell and joined by some former colleagues from the Munro of Aberdeen operation, Caledonian Logistics specialises in groupage work, storage and distribution. Having started out with just a couple of vans and a truck, serious effort and determination has been rewarded with significant growth and expansion over the years and the business now operates a fleet of around 40 vehicles, ranging from 3.5 tonne vans through to 44 tonne artics. Investment in new vehicles has always been high on the agenda at Caledonian Logistics – a point amply demonstrated by a recent £1.8 million order for 14 tractor units and nine 18 tonners scheduled soon to join the fleet as part of the firm’s refresh and expansion programme.
As members of the Palletways pallet network for the last eleven years, Caledonian Logistics trucks will be a familiar sight to many collectors as they make their way up and down the country on their regular runs from Company’s depots in Inverness & Aberdeen to and from the pallet hub in Lichfield.
Any collectors wishing to reserve a model should register their interest with Search Impex as soon as possible and provide their contact details. The models are expected to be priced around £138 each (including UK delivery & VAT). We do NOT require any deposit payment. We will simply notify you as soon as the model is available - and only then will we require payment in full. |
