Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of a 1:50 scale Mercedes Actros MP4 BigSpace (6x2) tractor unit with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the livery of well known Scottish operator ARR Craib.

The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectables as a certificated, Limited Edition (175 pieces).

With origins going back to the 1970’s, ARR Craib’s present day business was actually borne out of a merger between two independent providers of haulage and courier services - Aberdeen Road Runners Ltd and Craib Transport.  As standalone businesses, both operators were serving customers in the paper and oil & gas industries in the North East of Scotland and so, in 1983, a decision was reached to merge the two companies and to form ARR Craib Transport Ltd.
In 1985, present day Managing Director, Eddie Anderson joined the company as a shareholder.  Working in partnership with then Managing Director, George Craib, Eddie oversaw a period of rapid and successful growth in the business, followed by a period of planned diversification and a widening of the customer base served.

In 2008, George Craib retired after nearly 50 years in the haulage industry, leaving Eddie Anderson as the majority shareholder. Under Eddie’s stewardship, the Company has continued to be a very successful and major player in the haulage and logistics sector and nowadays enjoys a turnover in excess of £50 million.  Operating from bases in Aberdeen, Cumbernauld & Stockton on Tees, the Company employs more than 360 people, many of whom have been with the company for over 20 years.  And with 300+ vehicles (ranging from vans through to 44T artic units) and 500+ trailers (including curtain sided, flat bed, step decks, double decks, and lowloaders), ARR Craib runs one of the largest general haulage fleets in Scotland.

Models, available from Search Impex, are priced at £139 each (including UK delivery & VAT).
