Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of a 1:50 scale Volvo F12 Globetrotter (6x2) tractor unit with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in Shropshire based haulier Trevor Pye Transport’s livery.

The models have been produced as a non-exclusive, open release, in conjunction with WSI as part of the UK Classics 200 series of models.  Each model comes with a WSI certificate stating that the model is limited to a maximum run of 200 pieces worldwide.

Established in 1984 and based in the attractive market town of Wem in Shropshire, Trevor Pye Transport is a family run business.  Originally, the business operated fridge trailers and much of the work involved the collection and distribution of cheese but, driven by customer demand and requests, it soon broadened its range of services and expanded into general haulage.  Nowadays, the Company runs 18 trucks with a mix of trailers - including tautliners, fridges, flatbeds and tankers and operates throughout the UK.

Although the first truck in the fleet was actually a Volvo F7, this was replaced, in 1985, by the Volvo F12.  After more than 28 years loyal service and after clocking up many hundreds of thousands of miles, it was retired from service in 2013.  Having more than earned its keep within the business, it underwent a much deserved and caring restoration project and now enjoys a retirement which sees it undertake occasional fair-weather work on high days and holidays work and making regular appearances on the truck show circuit.

These Classic models, available now from Search Impex are priced at £148 each (including UK delivery & VAT).
