The model has been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles as a certificated Limited Edition (205 pieces).
With its Head Office in Fraserburgh, Europe’s biggest shellfish port and the heart of Scotland’s fishing industry, Whitelink Seafoods has been in business for over 40 years. The Company was established in 1974 by James Sutherland – who began the business by selling winkles from his garage in Fraserburgh. From these humble beginnings, the present day business (which, incidentally, is named after the place where James’ father spent his childhood in the nearby old fishing village of Cairnbulg which lies across from the fine sands of Whitelinks Bay), has grown to become a significant supplier in the seafood market, dealing with all types of seafood, including shellfish.
Today’s operation employs about 180 people in Fraserburgh and another fifty or so further afield - many of them from old fishing families. With four fish processing plants – two in the UK (in Fraserburgh and in Newlyn, Cornwall), one in Boulogne-sur-Mer and one in Iceland, the Company also has offices in Germany and Spain and aims to supply its customers in the UK & on the Continent within a 24 / 48 hour time period.
As proud winners of Transport News’ Scottish European Haulier of the Year 2017 award, the business operates a total of nine commercial vehicles, including three artics which undertake the continental work – the principal destinations being France and Spain. The immaculately turned out Scania truck is the latest addition to the Whitelink Seafoods’ fleet and is also understood to have been be the first S 730 to be operational in Aberdeenshire!
