1:50 scale Scania High R730 (8x4) tractor unit with 3 axle - wide bed - 5 axle Nooteboom Pendel-X low loader, customised in the livery of heavy haulage specialist Hallett Silbermann.

The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition (130 pieces).

Based in Hatfield, Herts, Hallett Silbermann has specialised in heavy haulage and abnormal load movements for more than 70 years.  In 2014, Hallett Silbermann was acquired by The Swain Group based in Kent but, since acquisition, has retained the running of its core operation from its long-established base in Hatfield.  The acquisition formed a key part of The Swain Group’s Special Projects division which caters for heavy haulage and lifting and was very much in keeping with the Group’s strategy focused on ensuring it is able to deliver highly effective logistics solutions across a wide range of business sectors.  Swain now boasts an impressive portfolio of nine specialist sectors.  With more than 700 employees, 600 units and 900 trailers at its disposal, the Group is able to cope with a wide variety of customer needs and deliver tailored transport solutions in every field from general haulage, to express freight, out-of-gauge and heavy lifting to special projects and logistics, warehousing and distribution.

Known as “the home of Heavy Haulage”, Hallett Silbermann has an extensive and diverse fleet of specialist vehicles and trailers capable of delivering loads up to CAT 3 STGO (150 tonnes GVW).  Whilst more than capable of offering a general road haulage service, the name Hallett Silbermann is perhaps most closely associated with specialising in the movement of quarry equipment, large industrial plant and heavy machinery throughout Ireland, the UK and also into continental Europe.  As specialists in heavy haulage operations, Hallett Silbermann provides diverse solutions to a wide variety of demands across a range of industrial and construction projects, many of which are time critical.

London & the South East have become one of the most challenging areas for logistics businesses to service effectively and efficiently.  Hallett Silbermann are an established "London solution business" with 5 operational depots in close proximity to London and delivery of the most challenging of loads right into the heart of the capital has become something of a specialism.  Services offered extend to providing advice, insights and project management - which can be especially important for the movement of abnormal loads requiring the involvement of Police, local authorities and other official bodies.  Where necessary, full route surveys can be undertaken and plans put together to co-ordinate the removal of street furniture with local authorities, advise about access problems (and recommend solutions) – as well as provision of all the essential documentation and official liaison services required for final delivery to be successful. Vehicle escort services can also be provided using in-house assets which are available for all types of abnormal loads being moved throughout the UK.

Diversity and flexibility of fleet is a key reason why Hallett Silbermann are often seen as the supplier of choice for national heavy haulage solutions.  The Scania R730 (on which the model is to be based) is one of the latest additions to the fleet and it can be paired with one of a number of heavy haulage trailers – anything ranging from flatbeds and extender flatbeds, through to 2, 3, 4 and 5 axle low loaders (as well as semi low loaders) and 2–bed–4 axle and 3–bed-5 axle low loaders.

Models, available from Search Impex, are priced at £235 each (including UK delivery & VAT).
