CRAIB COLLECTABLE COMES TO

MODEL MARKET!

Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of a 1:50 scale Scania S450 High (6×2) tractor unit, complete with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the “Delivering Winners” livery of well-known Scottish brand ARR Craib.

The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition (125 pieces).

Acquired by Gregory Distribution (Holdings) Ltd in 2018, the business formerly known as ARR Craib Transport Ltd, has headquarters in Aberdeen, with additional operations in Inverness and Queenslie, near Glasgow. At the time of acquisition, the business had a £50+m turnover, in excess of 275 vehicles and around 400 staff and Craib’s was viewed as a very significant addition to the Gregory Group. The Gregory Group have numerous operations throughout the UK and the acquisition of ARR Craib added significantly to its Scottish operations giving the group a strong market presence in both Scotland and South West England.

With origins going back to the 1970’s, the ARR Craib business was actually borne out of a merger between two independent providers of haulage and courier services – Aberdeen Road Runners Ltd and Craib Transport. As standalone businesses, both operators were serving customers in the paper and oil & gas industries in the North East of Scotland and so, in 1983, a decision was reached to merge the two companies and to form ARR Craib Transport Ltd.

Since becoming part of the Gregory Group, Craib has joined a company that shares the same guiding principles. Like Gregory, Craib was a private family-owned business which had gained an exceptional reputation over many years of trading and built a business on its strong reputations and relationships. Although now part of Gregory Group, the iconic brand of ARR Craib will continue, but with the addition of the widely recognised “Delivering Winners” slogan, as well as standardisation on the shade of blue used throughout the Craib corporate livery.

Nowadays, Gregory Group has a fleet of over 1,300 vehicles, 3,000 employees and a 100 year heritage. The latest planned model release of the Scania and curtain trailer is the first time an ARR Craib model has been produced in the “Delivering Winners” livery and so ensures that another Craib model can now proudly be added to many a model truck collection!
