Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of “Highland Maiden” – a 1:50 scale Volvo F12 6×2 single wheel tag axle with 3 axle, flatbed trailer, customised in the iconic livery of Scottish operator D. Steven & Son.

Unmistakably in keeping with this operator’s long-established custom of applying classy and traditional graphics to its trucks and trailers, this Volvo classic from the mid- 1980’s was once part of the fleet which, even back then, was creating interest amongst truck enthusiasts and collectors.

The Volvo F12 model joins D. Steven & Son’s steadily growing 1:50 scale model truck collection and has been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated, Limited Edition (330 pieces).

In business now for more than 100 years, the Company was established in Wick, Caithness, in 1920 by David Steven (grandfather of the present Managing Director) and the first vehicle in the “fleet” was a horse and cart. Whilst ensuring such humble origins are never forgotten, (to this day, two horse head graphics proudly feature on the front of every truck in the fleet), the Company has gone from strength to strength over the years.

Nowadays, D Steven & Son is a well-known and respected player in the haulage market and the Company offers a comprehensive range of services to a variety of clients across a broad spectrum of industry. With a large fleet of modern trucks (currently all Scania) and a variety of trailers, including not only refrigerated, but also curtain, flatbed and even a low loader & a bulk tipper, the Company is, perhaps, best known for the refrigerated transport side of its business – and particularly for the carrying of fish.

Renowned also for its beautifully liveried trucks and trailers, the Company continues to attract a keen collectors’ following which extends well into mainland Europe and beyond. The Volvo F12 classic and flatbed trailer will certainly make for an interesting addition to the impressive range of D Steven & Son models produced to date.
