DAF FIRST FOR FARSLEY!

Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are delighted to announce the release of a 1:50 scale new DAF XG (6×2) tractor unit with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the distinctive livery of Leeds based operator, Farsley Transport Ltd. The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition (110 pieces).

The humble origins of Farsley Transport go back to 1994 with a man, Neil Chappelow (present day MD of the Company), a van (Ford Escort) and a vision! Determined to offer a personal distribution service to his clients, Neil began by driving the length and breadth of the UK delivering goods for companies. The personal approach proved to be very successful and within three years of starting out, Neil made the decision to change the status of his business to a Limited company and also to bring onboard a new shareholder – Joseph Ward. Back in 1997, Joseph (now Financial Director of Farsley) was working for the Company as a driver and helping Neil to manage the increasing workload. It was his work ethic and loyalty to both his employer and his customers that resulted in Neil’s decision to make him a full working partner of Farsley Transport Limited – a move which, judging by the Company’s impressive growth over the last 25 years, has clearly paid dividends!

As well as being part of United Pallet Network (UPN), Farsley Transport offers nationwide distribution, specialising in part loads, return loads and groupage. Warehousing and storage also form part of the Company’s offerings to its customers. Utilising its fleet of vehicles (which ranges from vans and rigid trucks – 7.5 tonne up to 26 tonne – through to rigid crane trucks and 44 tonne artics with curtain trailers, double decks and flat beds), Farsley Transport trucks will already be a familiar sight to many people. The new DAF XG (on which the model is to be based) is the very latest addition to the fleet and it has been attractively liveried in keeping with Farsley’s two tone blue and white livery.
