Customised promotional model vehicle specialist, Search Impex, is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of a 1:50 scale Scania Streamline Topline (6×2) tractor unit with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the livery of Leicestershire based operator S & J European Haulage Ltd.

Commissioned to mark the 35th anniversary milestone recently reached by the Company, the models will be produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles as a certificated Limited Edition.

Formed in 1980 by Steve and Jane Haines (hence the S & J in the Company name), it is hard to believe that today’s business began as a small, home based concern with just one van. Through team effort, total dedication and determination since the start up, the business has grown solidly and steadily over the years and has now been joined by son, Matthew, and daughter, Sarah, so taking it into the second generation of the Haines family. The present day business is located on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray and occupies an extensive plot at Asfordby Business Park (former site of the Asfordby modern deep coal pit built between 1984 & 1993, but closed in 1997) and it now operates a fleet approaching 40 vehicles, ranging from vans & rigids, through to 44 tonne artics (mostly Scania & Mercedes), as well as road trains.

S & J European provides groupage and full load services throughout the UK & Europe, as well as offering an innovative overnight service to Northern and Southern Ireland. Warehousing and storage facilities are available with 22,000 sq ft of warehousing on site, where products can be racked or bulk stored prior to distribution. The Company has also recently joined the pallet network organisation, Palletline, through which it is able to handle UK wide deliveries of consignments ranging from single pallets through to part loads. This comprehensive range of services, combined with S & J European’s policy of continuous innovation and attention to customer care all point towards a bright future for the business.
