Steeles Removals Limited

A Vehicle with a Remarkable Story
This latest commission highlights a unique vehicle from the fleet of Steeles Removals Limited with a 1:50 scale Scania R Highline CR20H rigid flatbed truck fitted with a Palfinger crane, finished in the company’s distinctive livery.
Produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated limited edition, the model recreates one of the specialist vehicles operated by the Cumbria-based removals and transport company. Equipped with a flatbed body and crane, the Scania reflects the diverse range of work undertaken by the business throughout the UK and beyond.
Based in Barrow-in-Furness, Steeles Removals has built a reputation for handling everything from domestic and commercial relocations through to highly specialised transport projects. Supported by a fleet ranging from light vans to articulated vehicles and Hiab-equipped trucks, the company has undertaken an extraordinary variety of assignments, including the relocation of animals for the South Lakes Wild Animal Park.
The vehicle featured in this commission is perhaps best known for its involvement in the return of the iconic Bluebird K7 to The Ruskin Museum in Coniston. Following the painstaking restoration of Donald Campbell’s famous hydroplane, the Scania played an important role in transporting the vessel back to its permanent home, making it a vehicle with a fascinating place in British motoring and engineering history.
Combining a distinctive operator, a versatile vehicle specification and a remarkable historical connection, this model remains one of the most memorable additions to the Search Impex commissioned range.
