1:50 scale Mercedes Actros MP4 BigSpace (6×2) tractor unit with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the new livery of well-known Scottish operator Currie Solutions. The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectables as a certificated, Limited Edition (175 pieces).

Originally founded by Norman Currie and formerly known as Currie European Transport Group, the business has recently undergone a successful management buyout led by Managing Director (now business owner) Stephen Turner. Having been with the business most of his working life, it was in January 2019 that Stephen achieved his long term ambition of actually owning the Company. Leading up to the MBO, one of the first projects undertaken was a rebranding of the Group to Currie Solutions – a move designed to reflect the fact that the business offers a much more comprehensive range of services to its customer than simply European transport.

From its HQ in Dumfries and with strategic locations in the UK, France & The Netherlands, as well as business partners in Germany & Italy, Currie Solutions has been at the cutting edge of logistics since 1977. Nowadays, Currie Solutions operates a modern fleet comprising more than 250 Euro 6 compliant vehicles and 500 trailers (which includes a range of specialist equipment to suit a variety of business needs). Over the years, the business has earned a well-deserved reputation for supplying companies with transport and storage facilities and delivering tailor-made solutions by moulding its comprehensive range of services to meet the exact requirements of individual customers.

Since the completion of the MBO, the business has certainly not wasted any time in moving forward! The Company has now entered a new chapter in the journey to expand the business – the first move being the acquisition of Dundee based haulier P S Ridgway in February 2019. Doubtless, more strategic activities are being planned – so watch this space!

The BigSpace Mercedes was the first of 10 Mercedes trucks to be liveried in the new cab design and paired with the very first SDC curtainsider to enter the fleet in the new trailer livery.
