Promotional model trucks specialist Search Impex is delighted to announce the release of a Mercedes Arocs (8×4) tractor unit with a 3 axle + wide bed + 5 axle Pendel-X low loader, customised in the livery of well known Irish operator Donnell & Ellis Heavy Haulage Ltd.

The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles as a certificated Limited Edition.

Based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone in Northern Ireland, the Company was established in 1990 and still remaining a family run concern, now benefits from almost 25 years’ experience in the heavy haulage market. Whilst offering a general road haulage service, the Company is best known for specialising in the movement of quarry equipment, large industrial plant and heavy machinery throughout Ireland, the UK and into continental Europe.

Always image conscious, Donnell & Ellis prides itself on the appearance and reliability of its vehicles, as well as on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. The well presented fleet comprises a variety of units, (ranging from the more standard 6×2 axle configurations, through to powerful and impressive 8×4 units), which are used in conjunction with a wide range of specialist trailers – from 3 & 4 axle extendable flats and 3 to 7 axle extendable stepframes, through to 3 to 8 axle low loaders and a range of semi modular equipment. Complete with its own abnormal load escort vehicles, Donnell & Ellis can undertake all aspects of planning and moving long, high, wide or heavy loads by road & ferry.

The Mercedes Arocs is the very latest edition to the fleet and when coupled with the 3-bed-5 Pendel-X trailer, the rig measures about 27m in length and has an unladen weight of around 54 tons. When heavily laden, it can run at a maximum weight of 140 tonnes – and that’s when uphill parts of the route can see fuel consumption drop down to as little as 0.3 miles per gallon!
