Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are delighted to announce the release of a 1:50 scale Scania S650 V8 High (6×4) tractor unit with a 2 / wide bed / 4 axle Pendel-X low loader trailer, customised in the livery of Scottish heavy haulage operator Lochwinnoch Motors.

The models have been commissioned to mark the 20th anniversary of the business in 2021. This is the first time Lochwinnoch Motors has commissioned a run of models and they have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated, Limited Edition (205 pieces).

Based in Lochwinnoch, a village in the historic county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland and close to Glasgow and Paisley, Lochwinnoch Motors is headed up by husband and wife team Gordon and Linda Morrison. The slightly unusual, yet memorable, name of this heavy haulage operator has its origins in the name of Gordon’s late father’s business who, as garage proprietor and car mechanic, ran Lochwinnoch Motors. With nostalgic memories of the past, Gordon decided to continue with this name when starting his own business in 2001 – a business which, nowadays, specialises in the movement of heavy, abnormal & general haulage loads throughout the U.K. & Ireland.

Serving customers in a variety of different industries, Lochwinnoch Motors has a comprehensive and modern fleet of heavy haulage units (predominantly Scania) and specialised trailers capable of moving all types of heavy, difficult or awkward loads, as well as offering lorry-mounted crane services. Able to transport abnormal loads up to 250 tonnes, the Company also provides full pilot / escort vehicle support services to assist in the safe passage of abnormal loads to their intended destinations throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Scania S650 6×4 (registration plate G2 LML) on which the model has been based is one of the latest additions to this haulier’s impressive fleet. Regularly paired up with the 2 – bed – 4 axle low loader trailer, this sizeable rig is CAT 3 and plated up to 150 tons gross weight. Attractively turned out in the hallmark red & white livery, this Lochwinnoch Motors monster will almost certainly be a familiar sight to many heavy haulage industry enthusiasts and model collectors throughout the UK – and probably beyond.
