The models have been be produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectables as a certificated Limited Edition (205 pieces).

Northwards is one of the main freight and haulage operators to and from the Northern Isles. Although often thought of as a relatively new name on the scene, (the Company was formed in 2002), Northwards has the enviable privilege of being able to trace its history back to the 1930’s. At this time, ‘modern’ haulage operations in the Northern Isles were being pioneered by the North of Scotland Orkney & Shetland Steam Navigation Company to complement its shipping service. This later became the North of Scotland Orkney & Shetland Shipping Company, then Coast Lines Ltd and eventually the Company became part of the P&O Group in 1970’s. In 2002, P & O Scottish Ferries ceased to operate the ferry routes to the Orkney & Shetland Isles and the freight and haulage operations were subject to a successful Management Buyout and Northwards Ltd., came into being.

The name Northwards incidentally was chosen as it was the telegraph address for the original North of Scotland Orkney & Shetland Steam Navigation Company, thus keeping a connection to the roots of the business.

Northwards has a fleet of around 55 vehicles and 120 trailers operating throughout Shetland, Orkney and mainland Scotland. As well as the original depots in Shetland, Orkney, Aberdeen and Scrabster, additional facilities were also opened in Inverness in 2003 and in Glasgow in 2014.
