NEW DAF FOR R BARKLEY & SONS HELPS CHARITY! Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of a 1:50 scale DAF XF Super Space cab (6×2) tractor unit with 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the livery of well-known Northern Ireland based haulier R. Barkley & Sons Ltd., and incorporating the Pretty ‘n’ Pink Breast Cancer charity logo. Pretty ‘n’ Pink was founded in 2006 by Noleen Adair and is the only registered Breast Cancer Charity in Northern Ireland. It is run by a small team with the help of volunteers from across the province. All money raised by Pretty ‘n’ Pink stays within Northern Ireland and is used to provide practical help and support to patients with Breast Cancer and their families. The models have been commissioned to help raise funds for the Pretty ‘n’ Pink charity – a generous and fitting gesture by the Company whose Director, Kenneth Barkley, lost his daughter in law, Lynda Barkley, to breast cancer in 2015. The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles as certificated Limited Edition (205 pieces). Established in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim in August 1962 by Richard Barkley, the last half a century has witnessed substantial growth and successful development of this once fledgling business. Now headed up by the second generation of the Barkley family (sons Kenneth & Brian), today’s business operates an impressive fleet comprising 58 trucks (predominantly DAF – a marque of truck that has been in the fleet almost since the outset) and more than 100 trailers (mainly curtainside, flat bed and low loaders). More than 80 people are employed across three sites (Ballymoney, Heywood & Stoke), providing a UK – Ireland distribution service. The business undertakes general haulage, including groupage, as well as the movement of machinery & plant, including tractors and it also offers warehousing and storage facilities to its customers.

As shown by the attached letter, a donation of £10 per model has now been made to Pretty ‘n‘ Pink by Search Impex for every model it sold directly to individual collectors – raising £680 for the charity. We would like to thank collectors for their support.
