Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of 1:50 scale DAF XF Euro 6 Super Space (6×2) tractor unit and 3 axle, curtain trailer, customised in the livery of Scottish operator Shetland Transport.

The model, produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles, is a certificated Limited Edition (155 pieces).

Shetland Transport is a freight haulage company based in Lerwick, Shetland and with satellite depots in Aberdeen and Coatbridge on the outskirts of Glasgow. The Company operates daily services from all three depots, including a daily ferry sailing to and from Shetland through Aberdeen, as well as offering UK- wide and European services.

From modest beginnings and an investment in three trucks and five trailers, Shetland Transport has grown steadily over the years and now operates an impressive fleet comprising 28 trucks (predominantly DAF) and 65 trailers. Known particularly for UK / European temperature controlled distribution services, the majority of trailers are refrigerated but, to enable flexibility of service to support a wide variety of customers’ needs, the Company also operates other types of trailers, including a number of flatbeds and curtains.

The freight haulage logistics service caters for general freight, handling everything from transportation of hazardous materials (all with the full and required documentation) and complicated freight shipments of large and heavy bulk loads, right down to small individual packages. The services offered cover the UK mainland as well as continental Europe – from where regular haulage work with return loads destined for the UK helps keep overall transportation and operating costs down.
