Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of a pair of 1:50 scale Volvo FH540 (6x4) solo units, customised in the 50th anniversary livery of well-known Scottish operator and abnormal load specialist Cadzow Heavy Haulage.
This version of the Volvo (J27 CHH) bears the 50 Years logo.
The models will be produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition and may be purchased individually, or as a pair.
The Cadzow Heavy Haulage roots actually go as far back as 1957 when James Macauley (Snr) purchased a 2 tonne Morris truck and set out with a vision of building a family business in public works, including earthmoving, demolition and the supply of construction materials. Following the death of James in the early 1970s, his son (Jim Jnr) had the daunting task of taking over the reins. He opted to move away from the civil engineering and public works sector and made a decision to move purely into heavy haulage - so beginning, in 1973, what is now seen as today’s Cadzow Heavy Haulage. Under Jim Macauley’s guidance, the Company which, incidentally, takes its name from “Cadzow” – a region of South Lanarkshire in Scotland, has gone on to become one of the UK’s best known and most experienced operators in the transportation of heavy and abnormal loads. Sadly, in 2016, Jim Macauley passed away but, with the on-going involvement of his wife and two daughters in the business, it still remains very much family owned and run.
Offering haulier services throughout the UK to a range of different industries, Cadzow Heavy Haulage can handle loads of up to 110 tonnes. Large items of machinery and plant for commercial businesses are moved using the haulier’s fleet of modern tractor units and a variety of modern trailers. Reinvestment has always been a philosophy of the Macauley family, a policy resulting in a very modern, well maintained and well-presented fleet of units and trailers.
Within this iconic heavy haulage fleet now reside Cadzow’s 50th anniversary Volvo FH twins. With identical build specs, the distinguishing marks between the two come down to their (sequential) registration plates (J27 CHH and J28 CHH) and some subtle differences in the livery on each unit. These latest planned models will, undoubtedly, make for great additions to the on-going series of 1:50 scale Cadzow collectables!

The models are expected to be priced around £139 each (including UK delivery & VAT). We do NOT require any deposit payment. We will simply notify you as soon as the model is available and only at that time will we require payment in full.
