John Mitchell was established in 1956 by founder John Mitchell, starting with a single second-hand Albion lorry operating from Grangemouth. Over the decades, the family business grew into one of Scotland’s leading haulage and warehousing companies, developing particular expertise in container haulage and transport services.

In March 2025, John Mitchell joined the Gregory Group, becoming part of its growing network of established Scottish transport businesses. The John Mitchell brand continues to operate from Grangemouth, with its haulage, warehousing and container services continuing under the name that has been familiar in Scottish transport for 70 years.
