Search Impex are delighted to announce that pre-orders are now open for our latest exclusive release: the D. R. Macleod Scania 3 Series (6×2) with Dennison flatbed trailer, finished in the company’s unmistakable yellow, blue and red Stornoway livery.

Produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models, this impressive 1:50 scale combination captures the character of a classic Scottish haulier, with a highly detailed Scania 3 Series tractor unit and matching Dennison trailer. The model will be issued as a certificated limited edition.

Founded in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis in 1981 by Donald Roderick Macleod – known throughout the industry as “DR” – the business grew from a single Leyland Reiver into one of the most recognisable names in Highlands and Islands haulage.

Although the D. R. Macleod haulage operation is no longer trading in its original form, its distinctive yellow, blue and red fleet remains fondly remembered by transport enthusiasts across the UK. This release has been developed in collaboration with Mark Macleod, who joined the company’s board as a Director in 2015, helping ensure the model is a fitting tribute to the original vehicle and its unmistakable livery.

Please note: the flatbed trailer is produced using the closest available Dennison flatbed tooling in the WSI range. While it has been finished to complement the full-size outfit, some specification and detail differences from the original trailer will be present.
