We’re delighted to announce a new 1:50 scale commission for G & J Jack Ltd., created to celebrate an incredible 80 years of the family business.

This highly detailed DAF XD rigid box truck faithfully recreates one of G & J Jack’s distinctive vehicles, finished in the company’s instantly recognisable livery. Produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models, the model features custom tooling created specifically for this commission, including the roof spoiler and cooling engine.

The story of G & J Jack began in the fishing community of St. Combs, near Fraserburgh, where Granny Bessie Jack would travel around the local farms with a creel of fish on her back, trading fish for milk, eggs and chicken. After the Second World War, her son George and his brother James expanded the business, purchasing vans and eventually their first lorries to transport fish to customers across Scotland and England.

Over the generations, the Jack family business grew from those humble beginnings into an international seafood operation, with a fleet of vehicles playing an important role in transporting fresh seafood throughout the UK and Europe. The distinctive G & J Jack lorries have become an instantly recognisable part of the business — and popular subjects for model truck collectors.

With its combination of striking livery, bespoke tooling and limited-edition status, this is a particularly special addition to the G & J Jack collection — and a fitting way to mark eight decades of the business.
