Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are very pleased to announce the forthcoming release of a 1:50 scale Scania 560S High 6x2 twin wheel tag axle and 3 axle, refrigerated trailer (Thermo King), customised in the distinctive livery of Fridge Freight (Ireland) Ltd.
The models will be produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition.
With a livery that will perhaps look surprisingly familiar to many people, it will come as little or no surprise to reveal that McConaghy Refrigerated Distribution is actually the parent company of Fridge Freight Ireland. Based in the Lancashire town of Skelmersdale, Fridge Freight is a newly established operation which works closely alongside McConaghy and undertakes collection of loads ranging from 1-26 pallets which can be ambient, chilled, frozen or mixed consignments and delivers 7 days a week throughout the UK, as well as over to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
In addition to transport, Fridge Freight not only offers chilled storage and short term limited frozen storage but can also undertake complete customs documentation and clearance services for the movement of customers’ goods into and out of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. And in a still more specialised area of operation, the Company is able to provide complete veterinary certification for any consignment containing product of animal origin. With the benefit of an on-site vet working within Fridge Freight’s temperature controlled warehouse facilities who oversees the unloading, inspection and certification of products and then supervises the reloading and sealing of trailers ready for shipping, it can save customers many hours in the distribution time of their products.
The Scania S560 and refrigerated trailer is one of the latest additions to the Fridge Freight operation and it can regularly be seen delivering throughout the UK & Ireland. As our first commission for Fridge Freight (Ireland), the model will, of course, be emblazoned in the highly distinctive flame red and sunflower yellow livery (just like its full-sized counterpart) and so will make for an attractive addition to many a model truck collection – and perhaps even parked up alongside a McConaghy model, or two!
