Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are delighted to announce the release Volvo FH16 750 Globetrotter XXL (6x4) with 4 axle, Nooteboom PX low loader trailer, customised in Collins Earthworks’ livery.
The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition (275 pieces).
Based near the Derbyshire market town of Ripley, the business was established many years ago by David Collins, firstly as a sole trader and later registering as Collins Contractors Plant Hire Ltd in 2000. In 2006, the trading name was changed to Collins Earthworks Ltd., and continued successful growth has seen the Company undertake work throughout the UK. In addition to earthworks, the business has established a number of affiliated companies, including its sister company, EnviroTrac Ltd, (set up in 2008, specialising in soil stabilisation), Collins Training (formed in 2013 to provide operator training both internally as well as for external clients) and most recently Collins Demolition Ltd. Each enterprise operates out of one of two sites at Ripley and Kirkby In Ashfield in Nottinghamshire.
With an extensive fleet of over 80 vehicles, including low loaders, tippers and road sweepers, transport has become a key function of the business. Through its Contracting Division, Collins typically manages over 6,000 movements of heavy plant equipment throughout the country each year, moving not only its own plant but also regularly catering for many of the heavy haulage requirements of its clients. With a haulage capacity of up to 100 tonnes and a mix of trailers ranging from low loaders and stepframes, through to extenders and flat beds, Collins Earthworks Transport employs drivers trained to Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) & Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) standards.
A flagship member of the Collins Earthworks Transport fleet is the Volvo FH16 750 Globetrotter XXL (6x4), complete with personalised registration plate – V750 XXL. When paired with a Nooteboom PX 4 axle low loader trailer, it is regularly used to carry larger items of plant in the Collins portfolio, such as the Volvo A60H articulated dumpers. Keep an eye out for this fully laden rig when on your travels. Doubtless accompanied by one of Collins Earthworks’ own abnormal load escort vehicles, it will certainly make for a very impressive sight as it travels the national roads network.
