SMALL ADDITIONS TO THE DRUMMOND FLEET!
Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are delighted to announce the release of a 1:50 scale WSI model Volvo FH Globetrotter XL (6x2) tractor unit with 3 axle, skirted, curtain trailer, customised in the livery of long-established Scottish operator Drummond Distribution.
The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated, Limited Edition (175 pieces).
Established in 1927 and starting out making local coal deliveries, Drummond Distribution has successfully evolved to become one of Scotland’s longest established and most reliable pallet and parcel delivery companies. Still very much an independent, family owned and run business, the head office remains in Armadale, West Lothian (from where the Drummond family originate) but today’s operation has grown enormously over the years. The business employs in excess of 100 people and now extends across a further three sites located throughout the Central Belt of Scotland, all of which offer substantial warehousing facilities.
Operating throughout the UK and also offering a next day delivery service to Ireland, Drummond Distribution carries a diverse range of palletised products, concentrating on the manufacturing and industrial market sectors, as well as car and commercial vehicle tyres.
The Volvo FH on which the model has been based is one of the latest additions to a mixed fleet of around 80 vehicles (mostly Volvo & DAF) and which also includes rigid trucks and vans and more than 50 curtain trailers. Drummond Distribution trucks in their smart predominantly green, red & white livery will be a familiar sight to collectors and truck enthusiasts alike. This is the first time Drummond Distribution has commissioned a run of models and many of these miniatures are expected to find themselves parked up in model truck collections!
