1:50 Scania S580 V8 Highline 6x2 tag axle with livestock trailer, customised in the eye-catching livery of Scottish livestock transport specialists Ian Murrie Haulage Ltd.
The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectibles as a certificated Limited Edition (175 pieces).
Ian Murrie Haulage is a family owned and run business operating from small farm premises in the tiny village of Throsk, near Stirling. A driver by profession, Ian Murrie previously drove for another Scottish haulier delivering grain, hay and straw. That all changed, however, in 1986 when George Walker from Uddingston was seeking to retire and Ian asked about buying his truck. An agreement was reached and so, starting out with his newly acquired DAF 2300 6x2 rigid livestock truck, Ian Murrie Haulage was born.
Since then, the business has grown steadily and became an incorporated company in 2009. Already now involving the second generation of the family (Ian’s son, Alan, is also a Director in the business), the Company specialises in the movement of livestock and also undertakes the commercial delivery of hay and straw. The trucks operate mostly in Scotland serving, in particular, the Western Isles and the islands of Coll, Tiree, Mull & Islay, but they also occasionally venture south of the border and into the north of England.
Today’s fleet comprises a rigid Scania truck with drawbar trailer, four artics (all Scania) and a number of livestock trailers, as well as flatbed and stepframe trailers used for transporting loads of hay and straw. All the artics carry distinctive registration plates ending in “COO” - and with the plate V18 COO, the latest addition to the fleet, the Scania S580 V8 Highline (6x2, tag), is no exception.
