Customised promotional model vehicle specialists, Search Impex, are pleased to announce the release of a 1:50 scale WSI Die-Cast Model Scania S500 High (6x2) tractor unit and curtain trailer, customised in the livery of Northamptonshire based haulier, KGT Logistics.
The models have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition (155 pieces).
Officially known as KGT Logistics (North West) Ltd., KGT was established in 2005 in the north west village of Haydock (home to the well-known racecourse). The company has always been family run with Hollie and Steve Gill completing a management buyout of the previous owners in 2015 and the company now operates from two depots – in Wellingborough and Leigh - and has continued to grow since the takeover.
The business undertakes general haulage work across the UK but is, perhaps, best known for specialising in the transport and distribution of food packaging and reusable plastics. The Northamptonshire site (and now principal depot and HQ) was opened in 2010 and was established as part of a strategic plan to give KGT Logistics greater nationwide coverage – a move which has certainly borne fruit, because the business has grown significantly over the last decade and now operates a fully tracked fleet in excess of 30 trucks, predominantly Scania, and 50 trailers, mostly curtainsiders.
The county of Northamptonshire is, of course, also home to Northampton Saints Rugby Union club. As keen supporters of the club, KGT Logistics opted to make one of the most recent Scania S500 additions to the fleet into a truck which pays homage to the Northampton Saints rugby club. Attractively and subtly wrapped in club colours, this flagship Scania truck, complete with curtain trailer in KGT Logistics’ vibrant corporate green, makes for a striking combination and regularly turns many a head as it travels throughout the UK. A model will prove to be equally attractive and distinctive when parked up within any model truck collection!
