This is the first time an official production run of models has been commissioned by this long-established operator and they have been produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models as a certificated Limited Edition (125 pieces)
Based in Redruth, Cornwall, RR Transport Ltd has been in existence, albeit as part of a larger group of companies, since the 1960s. It was originally part of the Rowe Group, a family-owned company, based in Cornwall but in 1991, the Rowe Group separated out the transport section of their operations and created RR Transport Ltd.
RR Transport underwent a change of ownership in 2004, being now part of the MGB (Cornwall) Group – and has steadily continued to expand its services, whilst ensuring that the main focus continues to be customer satisfaction. From its 8 acre site in Redruth, an experienced and knowledgeable team of traffic planners, warehouse operatives and drivers work to provide an extensive transport and distribution service throughout the UK and Europe. From single pallets to full loads, RR Transport deliver to local, regional, national and European destinations and have one of the most modern fleets around. In addition, as a shareholder member of Pallet-Track – one of the UK’s fastest growing overnight palletised freight networks offering Next Day and Economy Pallet Distribution, RR Transport covers the TR (Truro) and PL (Plymouth) postcodes.
The fleet comprises a mix of articulated and rigid vehicles, with a diverse range of trailers. The general haulage uses, predominantly, curtain & flatbed trailers, allowing for the handling of all manner of palletised and non-palletised goods, but the fleet also caters for bulk haulage and includes a fleet of walking floor trailers and bulk tippers. Complimented by a substantial warehousing facility on its 12 acre site in nearby Cardrew, the Company has a very large secure storage facility with floor to ceiling racking, a fleet of forklift trucks and 24hr security - thereby enabling RR Transport to offer its customers the complete distribution solution.
